In this episode of Pacific Pulse, Clement Paligaru is in the Cook Islands capital, Rarotonga, where he meets the women who are continuing traditional quilting, or tivaevae. They gather every week to practice their craft and pass on their skills, though their numbers are dwindling as fewer younger women are interested in this gentle art. Tania Nugent is at the University of Goroka in Papua New Guinea's highlands where students are learning to make their own films. With training through Australia's University of Technology, Sydney, they've made 3 short films and formed a group called Yumi Piksa to bring the nation's stories to the screen, so local audiences can see films made by other Papua New Guineans, and to show the country's talent to the world.
