The Solomon Islands’ delegation was a huge hit at the tenth Festival of Pacific Arts in American Samoa. The distinctive sound of Malaitan pan pipes were a crowd favourite, bringing the house down at the closing ceremony.

Solomon Islands’ women were also represented with weavers, artists and dancers joining the nation’s delegation. Women also had their share of time on centre stage performing ceremonial dance from Makira province.

Honiara will host the next Festival of Pacific Arts in 2012.
