The New Zealand delegation made its arrival at the Festival of Pacific Arts known with an impressive Maori war chant.

Each of the 22 countries represented at the festival was presented to the President of American Samoa and other dignitaries in a parade of nations at the opening ceremony of the festival in Pago Pago.
