String band, Juno Tribe, is from Vanuatu’s volcanic Mere Lava island.

Here, they’re in the spotlight in the national capital, on stage at opening night of Fest’napuan, one of the Pacific’s biggest music festivals.

Organisers of Fest’napuan say string bands are found throughout Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea, but say Vanuatu has a distinctive local style that sets it apart.
