Nine dead in Philippine bank shooting 16/05/2008
18:40:46

Nine people have been found shot dead in a bank near the Philippine capital Manila, in an apparent armed robbery.

Police say bank clients alerted them after they found a bloodied body at the door of the Rizal Commercial Banking Corp branch in Cabuyao, south of Manila.

Nine bodies were found inside the bank, including two women.

An abandoned vehicle was found nearby, which police believe was used to escape.

They say the attack appears to have been a robbery, possibly carried out in collaboration with insiders, and say it is not immediately known whether any money was stolen.

Investigators are looking for two missing bank security guards they say may have involved.
