Cook Islands imposes new helmet fines 28/03/2008
16:23:16

In the Cook Islands, riding a bike or scooter without a helmet will soon result in a $US80 fine.

The new law comes in on April the 12th, after an amendment to the Cook Islands' 40-year-old Transport Act.

Cook Islands authorities are also considering reducing the speed limit from 60 to 50 kilometres an hour.
