India
In Depth

The number of people killed when a bus plunged into a river in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir has risen to 36.

Security forces are still trying to retrieve bodies from the accident site in the Chenab River, which flows into Pakistan.

The bus was on its way from Jammu, the state's winter capital, to Kishtwar district in the northeast, when it ran into the river, which is swollen from melting winter snow.
