30/04/2008 19:04:48 Survey of police performance underway in Cook Islands
Cook Islands
In Depth

A survey is underway on Rarotonga, in the Cook Islands, to gauge what the community thinks of the performance of the police force over the past year.

Inspector Tere Patia says the Community Perception Survey is being carried out by the youth organisation, Rotaract.

It is the second time such a survey has been done.

The first was in 2005 and the results were used to develop a strategic plan for the police force into the future.

Inspector Patia says the survey will be carried out through to the end of May, with the final results to be sent to the University of the South Pacific in Fiji.

He says results should be through at the end of June.
