Tonga's Pro Democracy movement wants the island nations' King to sign the political reform documents during his coronation in August.

Tonga's King, His Majesty King George the Fifth has agreed to accept poltical reforms, which will remove a large part of his influence over the country's government.

The changes are to be implemented during the next elections in 2010.

Yesterday Tonga held elections for its people representatives in parliament, with the pro democracy movement winning six of the nine seats.

The leader of the movement, Akilisi Pohiva says they want an assurance the king will stand by his word.

He says, "We want to see the political reform proposal, signed by His Majesty, as part of the coronation ceremony. If he can do that, then we may leave the time for implementation, for another time."
