The pro-democracy movement has maintained its dominance of the people's representatives seats in Tonga's parliament.

As Pacific Correspondent, Campbell Cooney, reports from Nuku'alofa the counting continues.

Despite still facing sedition charges over their role in the November 2006 riots, Tonga's pro-democracy movement has won six of the nine people's representatives seats in the country's parliament.

One of their members, in the Niue group of islands, has lost her seat.

Two more seats in the northern island group of Va'vua are yet to be declared.
