Lester, a student from Hong Kong, stays with an Australian family whose life revolves around their Indian restaurant.
While he gets to know them, he also finds out how to cook and what is involved in running a restaurant. He learns to cook a lamb curry, make naan bread, set tables and serve customers.
Along the way he plays soccer and pool with the kids, and goes to a pub to meet their friends. Finally, Lester gets a chance to test his new restaurant skills on some paying customers.
