Tom Williams is fast-earning a reputation as the resident thrill-seeker on The Great Outdoors. He has paraglided over Switzerland's Matterhorn, trekked through the dense Guatemalan jungle and explored an active volcano in Costa Rica. As a snowboarding instructor, competitive surf life saver and keen surfer, Tom is no stranger to adventure.

Since he joined the intrepid travelling team in July 2001, he's been on over 50 trips spanning 22 countries, including Vietnam, Holland and Japan. The likeable star calls it the "greatest job in TV" and says, "It's all you could imagine and more, and I'll never forget what I've experienced".

When he's not busy trekking the globe, the qualified carpenter can be found in his new home in Sydney's Northern Beaches, which he renovated himself and shares with his cat Streaker. The multi-skilled presenter holds a certificate for residential construction, but with his TV career booming, there's little chance he'll be falling back on his former profession anytime soon.
